On Sunday, July 7th, come out to the Backyard Arts Show! I'll be joined by six local artists and local musicians for a celebration of summer and art. We'll have snacks, drinks, and lots of functional and decorative art for sale.

Visiting artists include Stella Rosen, Bill Moore, Carson Whitmore, Nathan Hood, and Jess Sandford of October Forever. Ittai Korman and Ben Evans will be jamming on keys and bass.

Art in the Park was created in 1962 by a handful of area artists and craftspeople to showcase local talent. 56 years after its start, Art in the Park is host to 97 artists at each show. Some of the best local and regional artists and craftspeople showcase their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, fiber, glass, metal, photography, painting and more.

Art in the Park’s high standards and professional jury attract artisans from all over the Southeast to exhibit in a series of six shows, once a month, May through October. The quality of work exhibited draws more than 35,000 people to the mountains each season.

Art in the Park is planned and administered by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. The town and area businesses are enthusiastic and participate with Art in the Park, and the public eagerly anticipates each season.

The Come Out and Play sculpture show, 150 Wild Horse Run, Pittsboro, NC 27312, opens with a huge reception on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 2018, noon until dark. It continues the next four Saturdays, September 1, 8, 15, and 22 starting at 3 p.m. and ending at dark. It is free to everyone and dogs on leashes are encouraged to attend. There is wonderful art of all media, live music, and food and drink. The music is provided by the NC Songwriters Co-op.
