Cone 10 Soda Firing Workshop

Join us for a weekend of communal firing — glazing, wadding, loading, spraying soda, and unloading together as a group. This is a hands-on workshop for potters who want the experience of a full soda firing from start to finish, not just a place to fire work.
Schedule
Friday, August 28
1:00 PM — Arrive, glaze work
3:00 PM — Begin wadding
4:00–6:30 PM — Load the kiln (attendance required)
Saturday, August 29
Kiln firing day
12:00–4:00 PM — Participants welcome to join for soda spraying and the finish of the firing
Sunday, August 30
3:00–5:30 PM — Unload together (attendance required)
Afterward — Scrape shelves and clean up as a group
What's Included
3–4 cubic feet of kiln space per participant
Use of our cone 10 slips and glazes, wadding provided
Reduction atmosphere, soda-sprayed firing
What to Bring
Bisqued cone 10 clay work only
You're welcome to use our flashing slip and glazes, bring your own glazes, or arrive with work already glazed
Need clay? Star White Coarse and East Fork Red are available for purchase, $30/bag. Contact (919) 808-5358 to arrange pickup.
Pricing — Sliding Scale
This workshop is offered on a sliding scale: $200 / $225 / $250.
Please select whichever tier feels sustainable for you. Choosing the higher end helps support access for others in the community. No explanation required.

Participants must be able to attend loading on Friday, 4:00–6:30 PM and unloading on Sunday, 3:00–5:30 PM
