Coaster Making Workshop | March 7, 11-4 pm

from $85.00

This workshop focuses on lithographic image transfer onto clay. Participants will create a cohesive set of four ceramic coasters using their own imagery.

Lithography, in this context, is an image transfer technique that allows us to move a printed image onto the surface of clay. Prior to the workshop, participants will submit images. We will adjust and edit them as needed to ensure strong, clear transfers. You’re welcome to use one image across all four coasters or work with multiple images for a varied set. Images with high constrast, and a mostly white background work best.

Coasters will be pre-cut and prepared in advance, so our time together can focus on image preparation, placement, and the transfer process itself. We will walk through each step carefully, including printing, transferring, and surface finishing.

The workshop runs from 11:00–4:00, with a lunch break built in. Participants may bring a lunch or step out—there are several great restaurants within walking distance.

After the workshop, we will dry and fire the finished work. Coaster sets will be ready for pickup approximately three weeks later.
